Join Professionals in the City on our trip to Peru. Come experience the enchanting capital of Lima before venturing off to experience the wonder of the Sacred Valley. Topped with Machu Picchu and the natural hot spring, The Sacred Valley will bring wonder and amazement. Enjoy the welcoming locals, sample some phenomenal local eats and enjoy the colorful culture of Peru!



Day 1 - June 6th: Arrive in Lima at any time, check into your hotel and either relax for a few, or drop your bags and head out to start your exploration of Lima. Visit the Larco Museum, experience a chocolate workshop, or hit the beach for some sun, sand and great local Peruvian cuisine. Tonight is your welcome meeting where you will go over the itinerary, what to expect, tips and tricks to make your trip the best it can be. You will also meet your fellow travelers and group leader for this trip.

Day 2 - June 7th: Awake to an early morning breakfast and transfer to the Sacred Valley. We head back to the airport and board our flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, we hop on our transfer to Urubamba, along the way stopping at the Las Salineras pre-Inca salt pans and to tour the Maras and Moray ruins. After arrival and check in with some time to relax, we will enjoy a pachamanca-style dinner of local specialties with the group.

Day 3 - June 8th: Enjoy breakfast in the morning before we continue exploring the Sacred Valley. Start with the exploration of the Parque de la Papa to explore how this “Potatoe Park” and local weaving keeps this rural village prosperous. We continue on to the Pisac ruins. Here we will tour the hilltop citadel of Pisac, an Incan ruin with deep gorges, a ceremonial centre, and winding agriculture terracing that is still used today. Get an astonishing view of this truly amazing site sitting amid jagged mountain peaks stretching green valleys. Explore what once was hundreds of Inca tombs on the back side of the site.

We then move on to Huchuy Qosqo, a small village of 65 families in the Sacred Valley. Here we will have a traditional local lunch at the farm-to-table Parwa Community Restaurant. Then it is off to the Inca archeological site of the fortress and surrounding village of Ollantaytambo where we will explore the stronghold. After our long day of cultural absorption, we settle back into our hotel and the night is your to explore the Sacred Valley on your own or with your travel mates.

Day 4 - June 9th: Enjoy breakfast before your early morning transfer to Aguas Calientes. Stop part of the way to jump on the Inca Trail and hike your way through the ancient path. Or stay with the train the entire time and relax for the rest of the day and soak in the rural community, or head out and hit the local market for souvenirs, local snacks and good conversation. You could use your time to jump ahead of the group and get a glimpse of Machu Picchu before tomorrow’s tour, or visit the Butterfly House and Mandor Gardens. All are worth the time. You may have the option to soak in the local hot springs to rejuvenate your sore muscles.

Day 5 - June 10th: After breakfast, we embark to the 15th century site of Machu Picchu for our guided tour of this astonishing marvel. Learn the history, explore the temples and soak in the obvious energy of this beloved marvel. Take some time to explore on your own or follow other to the Inca Bridge for a view of the nearby cloud forest before we hop on our train back to Cusco. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and drop your bags. The night is yours to explore Cusco on your own.

Day 6 - June 11th: Awake to breakfast at the hotel, or sleep in after your fulfilling journey through the Sacred Valley. Explore Cusco in your vison. Take a horseback ride, sign up for a whitewater rafting adventure, visit the Inca Museum, or roam Cusco looking for a unique experience. Tonight we explore the Cusco Planetarium and the surrounding Llaullipata Ecological Reserve. Learn about the ancient relationship the Incas had with the stars and understanding of the cosmos they had way beyond others in the same era. After your stary night discovery, the night is yours to enjoy Cusco’s nightlife.

Day 7 - June 12th: After breakfast at the hotel it is off to the airport. We hop on our short flight back to Lima. Upon arrival, we will head to the hotel and check in. The rest of the day is yours to explore. Visit the Circuito Magico del Agua, take a bicycle or double decker bus tour of the city, visit the beach, or wander the town filling your luggage with souvenirs. Check out the local restaurants for dinner and relax on your last night in Peru.

Day 8 - June 13th: Today is departure day. Depending on what time your flight leaves, enjoy breakfast and head to the airport, or find somewhere to stow your luggage while you head out to explore Lima once more. Take in a Peruvian horse show,

Flight Information

This trip does not include an international flight. If you would like Professionals in the City to assist you in booking your flight, please mention in the comments section of your order.

Roommates: If you would like us to pair you with a roommate, please indicate in the "comments" section of your order form. We do our best to pair roommates, although there is no guarantee. If we are unable to pair you, you would need to upgrade to a single supplement.

Single Supplement: A single supplement is available for an additional fee of $599. If you would like to sign up for a single supplement, please indicate this in the comments section of the order form.

Payment Deadlines: After you make your initial $700 deposit, an additional payment of $700 is due February 15th, 2020. The final payment of the remaining balance is due on April 1st, 2020.

Cancellations: Cancellations prior to February 15th, 2020 will be subject to a $700 cancellation charge. Cancellations made on or after February 15th, 2020 and before April 1st, 2020 will be subject to a $1400 cancellation charge. There will be no refund issued in case of a cancellation on or after April 1st, 2020.

Passport Information: A valid passport will be required of all passengers (please verify that your passport will be valid six months beyond your return date to the United States). Please complete your Trip Information Form (will be e-mailed to you after registration) immediately upon receipt and return to Professionals in the City for verification.

Insurance Information: Professionals in the City requires a minimum $200,000 USD emergency medical evacuation and repatriation travel insurance. Proof of insurance must be provided to Professionals in the City by the requested due date. If this is not provided to Professionals in the City by the requested date, this will be treated as a cancellation in which our cancellation policy will take place. We recommend that you purchase travel insurance from Travelex Insurance Services, a reputable travel insurance company with extensive 24-hour emergency assistance services.
